Now that the summer season is coming to a close, I thought I would share with you all the items I used to make going through the fair and festival season easy and simple! When it comes to performing during this time of year, I hate having a purse or bag because it makes things difficult. I prefer to have everything on my person.

Cell Phone Case

My cell phone case also holds a card holder. I use this so that I can hang onto my credit cards and ID without needing a wallet or purse. My phone is always on my person so I knew I could keep my cards near my phone. I have a Samsung phone and this is the case I use and love! I specifically like this specific case because it is not super obvious that there is a wallet part. The section securely closes and keeps everything in one spot.

Clothes with Pockets

One of my go to outfits while performing is something that has lots of pockets. I have guitar picks to carry, business cards in my back pocket, my phone for social media and anything else that is handed to me throughout the day which happens more often than most realize. One of my favorite things to wear is overalls because there are so many pocket options and it gives off a country vibe! In addition to that, I find skirts and sundresses with pockets for shows where I want to dress up a little more!

Water Bottle

When I play festivals and fair shows, I am most likely outside and entertaining for a range of 1-4 hours. That’s a long time outside in the sun so I need a great water bottle in order to stay hydrated throughout this entire time. This one is specific for musicians because usually as a fairgoer, bringing in your own water bottle is not allowed. Regardless, I find that it is always important to have a great water bottle!

Backpack

When performing I don’t just bring my guitar. I have mic cables, guitar cables, microphones, merch and so much stuff to bring in! Then I walk it through a huge crowd of people so to sum it up, I need a good backpack. I have used the same pink backpack since I started doing shows 10 years ago. I found one similar to it, but just a different shade of pink! This backpack does not fail and it is infamous in the Southeast Wisconsin music community. People see my pink backpack and know that I am in the line up!

Good Shoes

At fairs and festivals, I love to dress up and have fun, but I need good shoes throughout the day. If I don’t have good shoes, I struggle throughout the day! I have a variety of shoes to choose from in my closet because I watch the weather. I like to have sandals with a back, a pair of converse or sneakers and to give off the country look I use ankle boots in the summer to beat the heat! If the weather is not too hot, I will pull out the cowboy boots, my favorite pair have a sunflower design on them!
