Hey y’all!
Over the first weekend of June, I traveled to La Crosse Wisconsin to see my brother run at the State Track Meet located at The UW La Crosse. Here are some highlights from the weekend!
Big Al’s Pizza
Looking for a great stop for dinner? Big Al’s Pizza is full of great choices! The atmosphere of the pizzeria was perfect for the typical Wisconsinite with different signs of local companies hanging from the ceilings and walls. When you first walk in, there is an airplane hanging from the ceiling to get you hooked on the atmosphere. They even have live music outside on the patio! Definitely taking notes on that!
Wondering what I ordered?
The server was very accommodating and let me split two different types of specialty pizzas into one large pizza. Half my pizza was the Veggie Works Pizza and the other half was the California Veggie Pizza. If you are thinking about taking a stop in La Crosse, this is a spot you do not want to pass up!
Grandad Bluff
Since the trip was in June, the weather was perfect for sightseeing! Grandad Bluff had the perfect view of the La Crosse. You could even see the university from the top. It is a great stop for kids because you are able to drive up to the top and see the whole city without taking a long hike to get there. There is the option to adventure on some trails, but if you have a tight schedule, you still have the opportunity to see some great views of the town.
Pearl Ice Cream Parlor
If you are looking for a sweet spot to cool down, Pearl Ice Cream Parlor is your spot! When you walk in you can see them making their homemade waffle cones and they are AMAZING! Most of their ice cream flavors are homemade as well. Wondering what I ordered? One scoop of Peanut Butter Cup in a Waffle Cone! It was the perfect flavor for any chocolate peanut butter fans because inside the ice cream are little Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups! YUM!
Howie’s on La Crosse
Howie’s is definitely the college pub with great drinks and food! The atmosphere is the college bar with different beer cans and beer tabs hanging or on display. The place was full of college students and other families watching the track meet on their large variety of TV's. Wondering what I ordered? Veggie Wrap with Potatoes and a side of fries.
